T-SHIRT YARN CROCHET COASTER

Recently I was so hooked by T-shirt yarn so I’ve designed few patterns. I like the contemporary look of  everything made from T-shirt  yarn and how quick you can see the final result from your work. T-shirt yarn is pretty sturdy and is perfect for home decor.  You can make the yarn by yourself  or just grab some from local yarn shop as I did.  I’ll show you a very easy, beautiful and practical  project with pretty  knit look. 

KNIT LOOK COASTER

MATERIALS:
T-shirt yarn,  crochet hook 9.0 mm (M/N) or 10.0 mm (N/P) – depends on the yarn you’ll use, yarn needle and scissors.

STITCHES:
sc- single crochet,
ssc – split single crochet – insert the hook into the center of the upside-down “V”, yarn over, pull the yarn through creating two loops on hook, yarn over, pull the yarn through both loops creating one loop.
​​reverse sc(crab stitch) – work from left to right (backwards), insert the hook, from front to back, in the next stitch to the right, yarn over  and draw the yarn through the stitch(like you do regular sc), yarn over and draw through the 2 loops on the hook .

NOTES:
Pattern is worked in continues rounds .
Coaster diameter 5 inches (12.5cm).

COASTER INSTRUCTIONS :
Round 1: Make a magic cirle, ch1(does not count as stitch), 8sc  inside the circle, join with sl st at beginning ch1. Pull the loop closed. (8sc)
Round 2: 2ssc in each sc around.(16ssc)
Round 3: *Ssc in next ssc, 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(24ssc)
Round 4: *Ssc in next 2 ssc , 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(32ssc)
Round 5: Reverse sc in each ssc around. Join at beginning sc.
Fasten off wave in ends. 

If you like to make a 8″(20 cm) coaster like the one under my favorite teapot  repeat Round 1-4.
Round 5: *Ssc in next 3 ssc , 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(40ssc)
Round 6: *Ssc in next 4 ssc , 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(48ssc)
Round 7: *Ssc in next 5 ssc , 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(56ssc)
Round 8: *Ssc in next 6 ssc , 2ssc in next ssc ; repeat from*  around.(64ssc)
Round 9: Reverse sc in each ssc around. Join at beginning sc.
Fasten off wave in ends.HAPPY CROCHETING!
